Enric Story
A childhood dream turned into a lifelong vocation
From the time I was just two years old, sitting wide-eyed inside a police car, I knew what I wanted to become. That simple childhood moment planted a seed that grew into a vocation. Today, after seven years as a police officer, I can say that dream became my reality — but more importantly, it became my purpose.
For me, policing is far more than a profession. It is a way of life, a constant reminder that every day I put on the uniform I have the chance to serve, protect, and help others. This job is about being present for people in their most difficult moments, and about contributing my small piece toward building a safer, better world.
Seven years of service — lessons from the frontline
In my career I have faced moments of joy and hardship, of success and of loss. I have taken part in major operations and seemingly minor calls that turned out to be life-changing for those involved. Some days I have been able to save lives directly, other times simply provide reassurance or guidance. But every call has taught me the same lesson: safety is fragile, and being prepared can change everything.
What safety means to me
Safety is one of the fundamental pillars of any country. Without it, everything else begins to crumble. For me, safety is not an abstract concept — it becomes real in those seconds when you are the first to arrive at an incident. Not just criminal cases, but traffic accidents, medical emergencies, or moments where someone simply needs help.
Those are the times when presence makes the difference: when you can save a life, prevent further harm, or guide someone through the worst moment of their life. That is the true essence of safety: to be there when people need you most, and to ensure they are never alone.
Responsibility we all share
I believe safety is not only the responsibility of professionals. Citizens too have a vital role to play in being prepared and minimizing risks. Sometimes this means building small habits, other times it means carrying compact tools that may seem insignificant — but can make the difference between life and death.
The Resqme tool is the perfect example. It fits on your keychain, barely noticeable in daily life, yet in an emergency it can break a window or cut a seatbelt in seconds. Emergencies unfold in the blink of an eye, and in those moments, seconds are everything.
A before-and-after moment
I learned this firsthand. Before I knew about Resqme, I once tried to break a car window using an extendable metal baton. Despite the force, the glass wouldn’t shatter — and every failed strike felt heavier as time slipped away. Later, I discovered the Resqme tool, and the contrast was astonishing. With a device so small you hardly notice carrying it, a simple press was enough to break a window instantly.
From that moment, my approach to rescues changed. Whether it’s freeing someone trapped inside, cutting a seatbelt, or creating fast access in a traffic accident, Resqme provides the immediacy we need. Often, we cannot wait for fire brigades with larger equipment; we need to act in those first seconds. Resqme gives us that power.
Stories from the road
Working around the clock as a police officer means responding to countless traffic accidents. Even a minor collision can jam doors and trap passengers inside. In those moments, heavy-duty rescue equipment is minutes away — but we are already there. That gap between waiting and acting can decide survival.
Resqme bridges that gap. It is not just a tool, but a solution for when time runs against us. With it, we can reach someone faster, provide immediate aid, and give them the best chance of survival until further help arrives.
Building a community for safety
Beyond my daily service, I created @policiablueline — Policía de Corazón, a community where I share a transparent and authentic perspective on policing. My goal is to help people connect with and empathize with the work we do, while also providing practical knowledge for both professionals and citizens.
Through this platform, I share advice, tools, and real experiences to educate others on how to stay safe and how to support security forces in different situations. A key part of that is recommending reliable equipment. In this line of work, there is no margin for error — sometimes you only get one chance, and your gear must work flawlessly.
That is why the Resqme tool has earned its place among my most trusted recommendations. It has been tested in real service, it has never failed me, and I recommend it with total confidence. My community knows that when I recommend something, it is because I trust it with my own life — and Resqme is one of those rare tools that truly makes the difference.
Looking forward
My mission is simple: to inspire both professionals and citizens to always be prepared. To show that safety is not only about responding, but about anticipating, equipping yourself, and being ready to act. If my story and experience can help even one person understand the importance of carrying a trusted tool like Resqme, then I will have honored the dream I had as a child — and the uniform I wear today.
