Frequently asked questions
Does the resqme® tool work on all car windows?
The resqme® tool is effective only against clear and tinted tempered glass. Tempered glass is commonly used in rear and side car windows. The resqme® tool does NOT work on laminated glass. Laminated windows which are typically used for windshields can also be found on some car models. To check to see what your side windows are made of, locate the sticker on your side windows to see if it is designated as “Tempered” glass. If you are unable to locate the sticker or the information is not understandable, please call your car manufacturer.
How do I know the type of glass used in my car?
Most sunroofs and rear windows are tempered. To figure out what kind of glass is in the side window of your car, you can look in the bottom corner. There may be a label that says “tempered” or “laminated.” If not, roll down the window and look at it from a bird’s-eye view. If it’s smooth and looks like one piece, it’s tempered. If it looks like a sandwich with a ridge, it’s laminated.
Is the resqme® reusable?
Yes. The spring-loaded spike resets automatically and can be used multiple times. The blade is very durable and can easily perform multiple seat belt cuts.
How can I test the resqme®?
If you’re going to test the window breaker on a car glass window, be sure to wear safety gloves and goggles. Alternatively, you can test the window breaker on a hard surface like a notepad. When the spring-loaded spike is released, you will hear a “click.” After you lift up the tool again, another spring resets the spike so you can use it again. You will see a small dent where the tip of the spike met the testing surface. The seatbelt cutter blade is very sharp and will easily cut through seatbelts. Hold the seatbelt tape taut and pull the tool toward you, cutting it diagonally.
When I look inside the tool where the spring-loaded spike is located, it seems the spike is misaligned. Is that normal?
The resqme® tool is designed this way. When not in use, the spike is not aligned with the hole. When you push the head of the resqme tool against a window or hard surface to activate the window breaker, an internal plastic shoulder centers the spike and the spring propels it forward and through the hole.
Will the spike accidentally release?
The resqme® tool will not accidentally deploy and cannot be triggered while you carry it on your keychain, pocket, or bag. In order to release the spring-loaded spike, 12 pounds of force needs to be intentionally applied to the tool. Do not press the head of the tool against your fingers to test it. With enough force, the spike will release and likely cause physical injury.
Can I take the resqme® on the airplane in my carry-on?
As it contains a blade, we recommend that you carry the resqme® tool in your checked baggage to avoid the risk of confiscation.
Do any of the resqme car escape tools glow in the dark?
No. None of our resqme car escape tools glow in the dark, However we are in the process of creating one and releasing it sometime in 2024.
What can I do if my package is marked as delivered but I cant find it ?

What Shipping company do you use?
When buying off of our website, resqme ships exclusively with USPS offering you 3 different shipping options to best fit your needs.
What are the three O-rings used for on the accessory kits?
We include 3 small flexable O-rings in order to give the resqme tool a tighter fit while it’s in the visor clip.
How do I remove the safety blade clip?
First attach the key ring or the cable tie (or the lanyard if you purchased the Premium Accessory Pack) around the loop of the clip to have more of a grip. Then unsnap the clip (pull straight / brisk movement) using the key ring or the cable tie around the loop. Please note that without support of key ring or the cable tie it can be a little difficult to remove the blade clip and can cause the resqme to break.
Warranty
Your purchase includes a 1 year product warranty. Attempting to use resqme® on any material besides tempered glass such as metal, laminated glass, etc. will void the warranty. Improper use of the resqme®, including using excessive force to pull down and release the tool, causing the clip guard to break, will void the warranty.
Warning
resqme® is designed solely for use in vehicular emergency situations and must not be used for any purpose other than rescue. Does not work on windshields. Only for tempered glass.

Only breaks tempered glass
When is comes to vehicle manufacturing, there are two main types of glass utilized; laminated and tempered glass. Tempered glass fractures into small chunks in order to prevent injury caused by sharp edges. Laminated glass consists of two or more panes of glass that are fused together by a sheet of plastic, making it harder to break in order to prevent ejections in an accident. The device will work on tempered glass only and not laminated glass. It is important to research the type of glass used in each of the windows of your vehicle(s) in order to equip yourself with the proper protocol to escape in the event of an emergency.

I have personal reasons for purchasing this product and I wish that it existed years ago because my little sister was trapped in her vehicle that was submerged in a pond on Christmas Day of 1999 and unfortunately she was not able to get out. I purchased 12 of these life saving devices to give away to my family members and I plan on purchasing a lot more to give away to my church members and friends.
